Legal Requirements:

As an employer you have a legal obligation under The Health & Safety First Aid Regulations 1981 and ACOP L74 to risk assess the first aid needs of your workplace and to ensure you provide suitable and adequate first aid provision for your workforce should employees be injured or become ill at work. 

These regulations apply to all workplaces and the self- employed.

In order to allow organisations to comply with these regulations Graves Training provides the following courses:

3 Day HSE Approved First Aid at Work

This course is designed for companies whose risk assessments identify the need for compliance with the current Health & Safety Regulations 1981. Learners will receive 18 hours tuition. 

2 Day HSE Approved First Aid Refresher

This course is designed for learners who need to re-new their initial 3 Day HSE Approved First Aid at Work. Learners will receive 12 hours tuition. PLEASE NOTE the HSE now allows 28 days grace for those whose certificates have expired.

1 Day HSE Emergency First Aid

This course is designed for smaller workplaces where a risk assessment identifies few Health & Safety risks. This is the minimum level of first aid training for the workplace. Learners will receive 6 hours tuition.

3 Hour Skills Refresher Update

This is designed and strongly recommended by the HSE that all learners attend this course on an annual basis to prevent skills fade. L earners will receive 3 hours tuition.

CPR &AED

This course teaches the basic skills required to administer Basic Life Support and operate and AED with confidence. Learners will receive 4 hour tuition.                                                                                      

Early Years 2 Day Paediatric First Aid

This course complies with Ofsted requirements for registered childminders and the requirements for nannies under the DfES Approved Carers Scheme. It can also be used as evidence for employees working towards an NVQ in Childcare and Education. Learners will receive 12 hours tuition.

Manual Handling

This course teaches the base movement for lifting and handling which complies with the 1992 Manual Handling Regulations. Learners will receive 3 hours tuition.
